Dear Ojai Unified families and staff,

As our state's response to the COVID situation rapidly evolves, we are continuing to refine and update our own policies and practices in Ojai Unified. As a reminder, all schools, both public and private, are required to follow all public health guidelines and state mandates.

Here are our most recent updates:

  1. We will be hosting a town hall meeting with Ventura County Public Health officials on Monday, August 16th. We will have two sessions, one in English from 6:00-6:30 pm and one in Spanish from 6:30-7:00 pm. You can attend either session using this link. You do not need to register in advance.
  2. We will once again be implementing our optional on-site COVID testing for students at all sites beginning the week of August 23rd. Students will have the opportunity once per week to take a COVID test using either a cheek or nostril swab. This service is free to all families* and is not mandatory for any student. You will receive a schedule and more information from your school site. 
  3. We will continue to implement our safety protocols from last year, including our HVAC fresh air settings in each classroom, daily disinfecting of classrooms and bathrooms, and the mandatory use of masks while inside buildings.
  4. We will be working with our employees to determine the effects of today's announcement requiring COVID testing or vaccinations for all school staff.
