4th Quarter Return to Campus Schedule

Updated March 26, 2021

As we close out this week and prepare for the final week of the 3rd quarter, we are excited to share that we are one step closer to a full return to school. We have new 4th quarter schedules for elementary schools, Matilija, Chaparral, and Nordhoff that will begin when we return from Spring Break on Monday, April 12. You can find information on each below.

Elementary Schools

  • Students will have the option to return to in-person learning five days per week.

  • The ABC Club will be available after school until 5 pm. We will work to accommodate as many students as possible, with priority for TK-2nd grade.

  • You can view the new schedule in English here and Spanish aquí.

Matilija Middle School

  • Students will have the option to return to in-person learning five days per week.

  • You can view the schedule in English here and Spanish aquí.

  • You can view a video explaining the schedule in English here and Spanish aquí.

  • We are asking families to fill out the 4th Quarter Commitment Form to help us plan and match the classroom space with the number of students who will be returning in person.

Nordhoff High School - returning on Tuesday, April 13

  • Students will have the option to return to in-person learning four days per week.

  • Updated April 27th - Nordhoff High School implemented a slight change to its break time for afternoon DL classes.

Based on feedback from students and staff, Nordhoff is reducing the break time between afternoon DL classes from 10 minutes down to 5 minutes.  This will help with after school sports, clubs, meetings and other activities.  Here is the revised schedule in English and in Spanish.  This new schedule begins April 27th.

Update from Superintendent Morse, January 7, 2021 ParentSquare message
.....
Our elementary schools will return to campus next week on Wednesday, January 13. Hybrid students will be on campus only Wednesday and Thursday. The week of January 18 we will follow our conference prep schedule, and hybrid students will again only be on campus on Wednesday and Thursday. The following week of January 25th, we will return to our full hybrid schedule with each cohort being on campus two days per week, with a total of four in-person learning days. You can view the elementary schedule for January here or aquí.

Our goal is that we will maintain the regular hybrid schedule through the rest of the school year. However, there is a possibility that we could have to quarantine a class or pod following Ventura County Public Health guidelines. Families might wish to have a contingency plan in case a class needs to return to distance learning.

For our secondary programs, we are planning to return to campus in small cohorts for the second semester. The schedules that our Return to Campus teams have been working on allow for one pod on campus each day. We will have more details on the proposed schedule (after the January 13th Board Meeting)

Dear Families,

As we prepared for our elementary students to return to campus we held town hall
meetings to help answer any questions you may have. During the meetings, we covered the daily schedule, information about full distance learning and homeschool options including how to sign up, and safety protocols we will have in place when we return to campus. Please see Town Hall presentations, here and recorded video, below.
