Report Out from Closed Session at Meeting of March 22, 2023 :
Tonight the Board interviewed three excellent candidates for the position of Interim Superintendent. After thoughtful discussion and consideration the Board voted, 3 to 2, to appoint Penelope A. DeLeon, Ed.D., to that position. Trustee Moncharsh, Trustee Griffen, and Trustee Chandler voted yes, Trustee Reyes and Trustee Halverson voted no.
Dr. DeLeon has more than six years' experience as a district superintendent, and she also possesses a Certificate in School Business Management. The Board believes that this appointment will greatly enhance this District's administrative capabilities during the crucial months before us. This appointment is subject to verification of certain references and the negotiation of a proposed contract.
At the Board's next regular meeting on April 6, 2023, the Board will consider a contract and compensation for this interim position, the details of which will be discussed and reported at that meeting.

Families and Staff, due to the weather, changing road conditions, and uncertainty caused by the recent flooding we have decided to cancel school today 1/10/2023. We will continue monitoring the situation and provide an update regarding school resuming tomorrow later this afternoon.
Dear families and staff,
Thank you for your extra patience today as we managed our way through this soggy day.
We will be closely monitoring the road conditions tonight and early tomorrow morning to determine what modifications, if any, we will need to make for school tomorrow. If the major roads into town are open we will plan to have school as normal. We will provide an update on the website beginning at 6 AM.
We will also have a team driving the roads early in the morning to ensure that our bus routes are passible. If we cannot safely provide transportation for students on any route we will notify you by 6:30 AM so that you can make alternative arrangements.
Please be sure to allow plenty of extra time tomorrow for pickup and dropoff.
If you have any issues at all please let your school site know.
