Dear Ojai Unified Staff and Families,
As you are all aware, there is a significant rainstorm hitting California Saturday through Tuesday. District staff are monitoring the storm closely and as of today it appears that the heaviest rain will be between noon on Sunday through about 9PM. There is continued rain expected Monday, however, the models are predicting lighter rain on Monday.
We have staff assigned to monitor schools on Sunday to prevent flooding and damage. We will also monitor updates about road closures through the VC Alert System. If there are no major road closures Monday morning, we have staff ready to drive the roads starting at 5AM to evaluate the conditions.
If there is damage, unsafe conditions or significant road closures that would necessitate closing schools, we will send a ParentSquare message out to families by 6:30AM on Monday morning. However, for now, we plan to have schools open on Monday.
