Next two weeks school schedule
For the next two weeks, starting Monday April 15, ALL classes will be on a Block Schedule format (same schedule as Thursday and Friday).
The schedule will rotate each day 1, 3, 5 and then 2, 4, 6.
All students are released at 2pm.
Intervention from 2-3pm will be used for testing makeups and for teachers who request some students to meet with them to improve their grades.
There will be no 5-Star intervention sign ups for the next two weeks

Cheer Tryouts - Next Week
Cheer Tryouts are this month for ALL FUTURE 9-12 graders! April 22-24th, 2024 Monday-Wednesday 4:30-6:15 PM in the Nordhoff Cafeteria.
In order to Tryout: Athletes need a current physical. Please turn in your physical to the office. Athletes must be Cleared on Athletic Clearance for the 2023-2024 season. (New year not opened yet)

Parenting Strategies for Sensible Screen and Social Media Use
Parents, next Wednesday April 24th at 6:30pm at our District Office we have an awesome opportunity to come see internationally renowned Licensed Clinical Psychologist Dr. Tracy Bennett come speak to our OUSD community about building, maintaining, and repairing digital health for young people.

Need a Job? - The County of Ventura
BE A PART OF SOMETHING AMAZING. The County of Ventura is looking for enthusiastic high school students interested in learning more about what it is like to work in county government. While employed, students will have the opportunity to gain practical skills and knowledge in their field of interest while also going on group field trips to various parts of the county. Attention Seniors!
Ventura College will be coming back to campus for the Next Steps Workshop. You must have completed the application process in order to attend. The workshop will be held on Thursday, April 24th, 2024 during 2nd period and they will go over how to create and navigate your student portal. Please let Marissa Vasquez know if you are interested! There is a sign up sheet in front of her desk.
Prom
Prom tickets are now $100. If you are looking for Prom attire, please visit the high school Wellness Center Wednesday through Friday at lunch. Dresses, pants, shirts, shoes and jewelry are available to borrow.

Every person who attends Prom must fill out paperwork. There are four different packets in the office - choose the packet that applies to you:
NHS student packet with no guest
NHS student packet with paperwork for NHS student guest(If a junior or senior invites a freshman or sophomore.)
NHS student packet with paperwork for guest from another school
NHS student packet with paperwork for guest who has graduated
Additionally, there will be a SEPARATE FORM for students who would like to run the ONE bus we will be providing to Prom this year. The price for the bus is included in the ticket price. Students reserve their seats on the bus by turning in the permission slip.

Ohana Surf Camp in Ventura
We are looking for Camp Counselors for our Summer 2024 Surf Camps. We provide training and pay for First Aid and Cpr certification. We have been in business for seven years in Ventura through the parks and rec department. Camp begins June 17th, and we pay $18 an hour. We hope that you share this with your athletes. Best of luck this season.
