Length: 1 year; grades 10, 11, 12. Prerequisite: completion of Dance 1A or Dance 2P. Offered after school; time TBD based on students enrolled in class. Choreography is an advanced class for the student who has had background training in dance. In this class students will be learning advanced choreographic techniques. Students will be expected to progress their improvisational work into choreography projects and address all the elements of the rehearsal process. Students will have multiple opportunities to see live performances and respond critically through written and discussion form. Students will also learn to identify and perform historical and cultural dance. Dancers will gain self-awareness and confidence from participation in this class and will be expected to apply their dance technique and understanding of the content standards by dancing in a performance setting.
