“Are You Returning Next Year” surveys are being sent home this week with students in grades TK-4. Please turn these in right away so we hold a place for your child next year. This is important!
If you know someone who has expressed an interest, please encourage them to enroll ASAP! Priority enrollment is the following: Mira Monte boundary students are first. Ojai Unified non-Mira Monte boundaries are second. Students who live outside of the Ojai Unified School District have third priority. Non-Mira Monte and non-OUSD enrollment packets are date stamped when they are returned. Getting them turned into the school early could make a difference for acceptance. We accept those returned the earliest before those packets that are turned in later.
Kindergarten Students: Must be five years of age on or before September 1, 2019.
Transitional Kindergarten Students: Must turn five between September 2, 2019 & December 2, 2019. To enroll your child, you must bring a complete enrollment packet to the school site.
If you have a child already attending MM and want us to send an enrollment packet home for a child not currently attending our school or entering TK or K, please let us know by email at email@example.com or send a note to school with your child. We will provide parents who are unfamiliar with our TK/K program a tour on Friday, February 15 between 9:00 and 10:30 AM. Please spread the word! If you live outside of the Mira Monte boundaries your chances of being accepted are better if you complete your registration forms early.
Our PTO Read-a-Thon begins on Monday. Please look for the information sent home with your child this week. The prize structure is still being worked out by the PTO. We’ll communicate that information ASAP. In the meantime, please sign your students up online using the information that was sent home and begin having them track their reading using the attached form and request pledges from family and friends. If you do not want to set your child up with an account online, please use the form attached to the packet.
The company we are using this year is different from last year. The company we used last year charged a higher percentage for the administrative fee. Additionally, our PTO was not happy with the prizes that were provided by the company. They will be providing their own prizes. If you have questions, please ask! Since this is a new company we are using this year, we will likely have a few to answer. Thank you for your support!
Our lost and found is out of control! Next week, we will be delivering the oldest of bags we have collected to a local charity. These items have been in a bag in our MP room for at least a month. If your child is missing a sweater, jacket, or lunch box, please come look at what we have collected!
Our PTO is soliciting ideas for programs and items to purchase for the school. If you can’t make it to the PTO meeting on February 28, but would like to share your ideas, please forward them to Sherilyn at firstname.lastname@example.org or Ms. Sears at email@example.com.
