Attention Rangers:  We are extending our computer lab hours.  Starting Monday, Sept. 24th, the F2 computer lab will be open before school from 7:10-7:35 as well as during lunch.  If you need another place to work on the computers or print papers, please visit Mr. Hansen in the F2 computer lab.

The computer lab will however be closed at lunch today-sorry!

Attention Seniors!!  If you don’t want “Go Rangers!” under your senior picture in the yearbook, turn in your senior quotes starting NOW!  A box is located in the office by Essie’s desk for your quotes.

LAST CHANCE!  Tried and True Tutoring will be offering a SAT boot camp here at Nordhoff on Saturday September 22nd and Sunday September 23rd. If interested, please pick up a flier by Essie in the office. 

Nordhoff needs three students to serve as School Site Council Members. A site council is a team of the school principal, teachers, staff, parents, students, and others from the community who work together to help their school be successful. There will be four meetings this year. If you are interested

please see Mr. Monson.  Today is the last day to apply.

The absolute last Picture Retake Day will be on Monday, Sept. 24th at snack and lunch only in the I-bldg.

Bring in your UNCUT/UNDAMAGED photos if you want to have your picture retaken.  

Replacement ID cards will be available in the office when you turn in your old card.

CLUB DAY this Friday!  Come out to the quad at snack and lunch on Friday to find out what clubs are offered here at NHS!  If you're interested in starting your own club, see Mrs. Cull-Michels in the office.

Citizenship point opportunity:  We are offering 20 citizenship points for any student age 16-18 who registers or pre-registers to vote.  The League of Women Voters will be on campus for an in-person voter registration drive in senior government classes, but if you are 16 or 17 years old, you may pre-register to vote through an online website:  There is also a link on the NHS homepage under the "News and Announcements" section.  To receive your points, you will need to provide proof of registration to Mr. Hall.

CCC NEWS: Hours for the CCC are posted by the door.

The application for the Ventura Elks Lodge Most Valuable Student Scholarship is now open. This is a great local scholarship for seniors to apply to. Last year Nordhoff students received four of the six scholarships that were awarded to Ventura County students! Visit the CCC for more information on how to apply or go online to to get started. 

The CSF membership drive begins this week and will end September 28th. CSF is a scholarship and service club at Nordhoff. Students must apply each semester with a copy of their previous semester's grades, complete application, and $5 membership fee. Meetings are held weekly. Membership applications and info on becoming a CSF officer are in the CCC or stop by the CSF table on Club Day this Friday.


Don't miss out on attending a college presentation. Reps from Cal Lutheran, University of Oregon, Whitworth University, Linfield College, Whittier College and UCSB are all coming to Nordhoff. Visit the CCC to sign up before it's too late.
