Poco Farm

As an outdoor classroom, Poco Farm is invaluable to OUSD students, who learn about tending fields and growing food. Poco Farm also supports educational efforts, as OUSD Elementary school students learn the cycle of food, and how it ends up at our table.

OUSD Nutrition Services and Food for Thought partner in a "garden program" at all five OUSD elementary school sites. This program keeps our on-site school gardens thriving and staff are available to assist with  lessons in nutrition, history, geography, math, and science.  Gardens also become wondrous places in which to play, relax, taste and experience the joys of gardening.

Ojai Rotary and Ojai Rotary West

During the 2014/2015 school year, Ojai Unified Nutrition Services  received financial support from Ojai Rotary and Ojai Rotary West to enhance the meal programs offered to our students.  The funding supported the development of "Recipe Kits" for fresh salad offerings, the development of student taste-testing clubs, specialty lunch bars, and labor associated with processing of fresh fruits and vegetables.
