Substitute Teaching

Our staff will guide you in processing your emergency subsitute permit (State minimum requirement of BA Degree, CBEST passing Scores, Department of Justice/FBI Criminal History Clearance, Application 41-4, and fee of $102.00 payable online. Please make an appointment at the Ventura County Office of Education - Credentials Department, Jennifer Henderson (805)383-1934 to file this information.

Renewal permits for subsitute teachers must be processed via the online renewal program at (http://
www.ctc.ca.gov) for a fee of $102.00 payable by Mastercard or Visa.  The online renewal process MUST be completed prior to the expiration date on your current credential.  You will not be allowed to continue with your substitute employment without a valid permit.

After registering your substitute permit with the Ventura County Office Of Education, you may contact the Substitute Office at 646-6780. You will need to schedule an appointment with Jodi to review District Policies regarding substitute teachers as well as filling out our personnel information and payroll packets. We will work with you to accommodate your wishes to teach specific grade levels or subjects.

Current daily rate of pay for substitute teachers is $115.00
